Spring is definitely in the air and on everyone's mind. What that means to you could be gardening, cleaning, painting, golfing, fishing, opening your camp or cottage, whatever it is, we all look forward to it after a very long winter.

Cleaning is one thing on my mind, windows being a focus, to let the sun shine in. I was asking around what product works best and was pleasantly amazed when I tried something new to me, Hertel Multi-Purpose cleaner in the bright green bottle with the pink cap, $2.94. It worked the best of anything I have tried, and I have tried many products. No streaking , no rinsing and no drying, that is a major time saver. You can use it on stainless steel, counter tops, mirrors, hardwood floors and glass. I bought mine at WALMART. There are also several cleaning kits available this year, nice idea.

Walmart also has one of the best selections of Ladies casual sandals in town and around $10 a pair. If you are looking for new patio furniture this year, check out Walmart first. They have some great prices and we have bought 2 sets for ourselves there, one for cottage, and one for home.

I needed some microfiber clothes to clean with, soDOLLARAMA is the best place to get 2 for $1, no lint when cleaning the windows. I bought a box of steel wool soap pads too, they work pretty good for $1. The last thing I bought allot of was the 10 oz cans of Mandarin oranges, broken segments, 2 for $1. These are great to put in salads and the kids love them. If it is a company affair I do buy the one piece ones from the grocery store. Just to note also: Dollarama Locations now have Debit as a method of purchase!

WINNERS had a set of wood salad servers that I have been trying to find for awhile. The short ones with fingers that even children can use without making a mess and only $3.99, that is amazing, I have seen them for up to $20.00 a pair.

WICKER EMPORIUM has packages of the wrought irons curtain clips, 10 in a pack for $2.99, compare else where $10 a pack. They also have wrought iron curtain rods 28" - 48" for $9.99 and 48" - 84" $12.99. Remember if they are not the color you need, spray paint is only $5 and very little time, especially at those prices.

COSTCO has Jones and Co capris, available in black, brown, denim and taupe, plaid matching belt includes, sizes 6 - 16, only $15.99 a pair. Ladies Urban Star, denim walking shorts, with a matching striped belt only $13.99 a pair. Don't forget if you want to stock up on rice, Costco is the place to buy, really great prices.

We have been looking for a new sofa set for our cottage and having a real hard time finding one that is casual looking for a cottage. We took a short drive to ROCKLAND MANUFACTURING 1026 Principal Drive, Memramcook. They have a showroom of furniture there,and if they don't have what you are looking for they might be able to make it. We showed them a picture of one we liked, picked out the fabric, shape of the feet, firmness of the cushions, firmness for the back and it was so easy. So if you are having a difficult time finding what you want and know what you want, drive down to see them, it is well worth it.
