10 Questions - Josh McIssac

Josh McIssac1. What do you like about Moncton?

I like the people. My time at ABU (Atlantic Baptist University) has allowed me to meet many people from around the world who have influenced my life in a variety of meaningful ways. I have also been fortunate enough to have become connected to a group called The Pool: a loving community of local Christians who meet on Thursday nights at The Chateau Moncton.

2. What is your favorite outdoor activity?

During the few moments that I have free these days, I like to relax by walking, reading, playing and listening to music, eating, and learning. So I would have to say that my favorite outdoor activity would involve as many of these as possible; I think it can be best summed up in the word picnicking though I actually don't picnic very often and will probably only picnic less during the upcoming season.

3. What is your favorite restaurant?

I like eating at no-nonsense kinds of places. An example of this would be Picaloaf on Mountain rd. Coffee that is served Americano style is also something that I appreciate; If you agree with this sentiment, you can find what you are looking for at Calactus.

4. If you could be the mayor of Moncton for a day, what would you do?

I would make drastic changes to the public transportation system.

5. Who is the coolest or most impressive person or celebrity that you’ve gotten to meet?

I have had the privilege of, not only meeting but, working with a wonderful vocalist by the name of Shenoa Matheson. I realize that she is, as yet, virtually undiscovered; But I am confident that once the world is blessed with the privilege of experiencing her passionate, creative, soulful, warm, and always melodic music, they will see why I consider this encounter so worthy of mention.

6. Which show is “Must See TV” for you?

The only TV I watch is The biography channel.

7. What do you like to do during your time off?

I like relaxing on Main st. during the day; A walk from Reid's Newsstand to Spin It crosses some great stops: Used book/record stores and Coffee shops are my preferred locations.

8. A relaxing evening for you is?

One where I actually get to sleep for seven hours.

9. A night out for you is?

Sitting around drinks with friends at a pub where there is live background music during which an enjoyable conversation can be had. The mutual-exclusivity of the latter two elements of a night out, often causes difficulty but that doesn't change the fact that we try.

10. Can you share with us one of your happiest moments?

I am absolutely happiest when I am able to sit down with another songwriter and collaborate on a new and personal creation.
